Same brands, different occasion
A sports brand has long stopped making only sports shoes. Much of what hangs here comes from the same brands as the team kit a few metres away, but is made to wear to school, to work or into town.
That makes it easy to combine, and it saves visiting a second shop.
Try them on and compare
You buy a sneaker on fit, not on size: the same number comes out differently from brand to brand. On the wall they stand side by side, so you try three and you know.
Who this department is for
For anyone after something to wear off the pitch, and for anyone who does not play sport at all but likes walking on a decent shoe. Parents who come in with a child for football boots often leave with a second pair.
Why a sports store sells sneakers
Sports brands stopped making only sports shoes a long time ago, and most people stopped wearing them only for sport. A model designed for the indoor court sits just as well under a pair of jeans.
That suits us: we already know those brands from the other departments and we know how they come out. A 43 at one brand is a 44 at another, and that is something you would rather find out here than at home on the doormat.
The sneaker wall therefore runs on right next to the sports departments. No second shop needed.
